Smith, O. H.

Among the varied industries of Ottawa, the sheet metal works of Mr. O. H. Smith at 231 South Main St., holds and enviable position. The active head of this firm and three assistants are all practical mechanics and adepts in this line, therefore they guarantee thorough satisfaction with all work turned out and installed. The business consists of manufacturing tin, sheet iron, copper work for roofing, ceiling, guttering, spouting, cornices, furnaces, pumps etc. They manufacture install and repair everything in this line, work is promptly executed at moderate prices. A specialty is made of the Prest and Home Comfort Furnaces. This business was established in 1899 and has grown very rapidly under the careful management of the proprietor, who is successor to C. B. Oelkers. Mr. O. H. Smith, the head of this business, was born in Mr. Vernon, Ohio, in 1865. He has been in Kansas since he was nine years of age. He played professional base-ball for eleven years and was during that time associated with some of the best known players this country has turned out. He is a member of the Masons and A. O. U. W.
