Elder, A. P.

A. P. Elder. As a pushing, energetic and enterprising citizen, Kansas can boast of few such men as he who is the subject of this sketch. His stock of stoves, tinware, gas and plumbing supplies, bicycles and a hundred other things too numerous to mention, are well displayed and it is certainly a selected stock. The sheet metal works are among the most important of his various departments. Roofing, guttering, spouting and ornamental work is performed by skilled workmen. Plumbing is done by experienced plumbers. He has recently made contracts for the heating apparatus for the residence of H. A. Dunn, M. R. Harris and W. S. Williams and the new school house. Contracts are made anywhere in the country. Mr. Elder employs on an average of 15 men to supply the demands of this house. He is one of the oldest merchants in Ottawa, having established the business about a quarter of a century ago. He is president of the Ottawa Foundry Co., and president of the Ottawa Gas and Heating Co. Mr. Elder is thoroughly in love with Ottawa, and no public enterprice is inaugurated without receiving substantial encouragement from him. Such men as A. P. Elder deserve success and the patronage of the public.
