W. CHENOWETH
This firm was established in 1872 and is one of the oldest institutions in this city as well as one of the best known. The undertaking parlors and display rooms are located at 334 South Main St. and consist of a fine dust proof display room for caskets and all funeral goods, a fine glass wall casket case fills the entire length of the display room, which is electrically lighted with 40 incandescent lights. In this case is shown the finest couch and draped caskets, also fine carved quartered oak, mahogany and solid walnut caskets. They also have a fine chapel, seated with chairs and fitted with rugs, organ, pictures and everything that could be desired as a place for holding funeral services. To the rear is their large ware room and workroom with morgue room for the car of the dead. In addition to their funeral parlors and stock, they carry a fine rolling stock consisting of two fine black rubber-tired funeral cars, one fine white car, white casket wagon, and the finest new white Red Cross ambulance that is made. It is very large and roomy, fitted with electric lights, gong, brake, and carries and ambulance hair and cot. They use a pure white team with the finest new white harness, also the property of Mr. Chenoweth. In addition he has a call buggy which he uses at all funerals to take the minster to the cemetery. Mr. Chenoweth also manufactures and sells the Parry Cement Burial Vault, which cements up both air and water tight and when sealed in the grave is the same as one solid stone vault, which will last for all time. A general undertaking and embalming business is conducted, embalming bodies for immediate burial or shipment. This business was established by John Chenoweth, the father of the present proprietor. The present owner, Mr. W. Chenoweth directly supervises all details of the business. He was born in this city in 1877. He is a member of the Baptist church, Masons, M. W. A. I., O. O. F., F. A. A. Knights & Ladies of Security, Red Men and Royal Neighbors.
