Hotel de Hoss

“Hotel de Hoss” is the more or less euphonious name of S. A. Hester’s livery barn at 509 and 511 South Main street. It is indeed a comfortable hotel for horses, being of brick, warm and comfortable, floors, stalls and ventilation complete. It is one of the best barns in the state and equipped with numerous stylish and substantial turnouts for all occasions. A commodious hack line is run by this stable, making all trains day or night and conveying passengers safely to any part of the city. This stable has the only electric reminder in the city. A specialty is made of boarding horses, some dozen boarders now occupying comfortable quarters there. Mr. Hester has lived in this county 41 years. He has been in charge of a hack line for years and two years ago he added the livery business. Fair, prompt treatment is the motto carried out by Mr. Hester and his employees.
